Kalpakam A. Shastri, DDS

Dr. Shastri is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon and is well versed with a wide range of surgical procedures. After graduating from Northwestern University Dental School, Dr. Shastri completed her surgical residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Prior to relocating to the greater DC area, she was a staff Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon at Tufts Medical Center and an Assistant Professor at the University. Her expertise includes wisdom teeth removal, bone graft procedures and dental implants, traumatic injuries, orthognathic surgery as well as pathology and reconstruction. She is trained in pediatric and adult anesthesia and sedation. She is currently part of the faculty at Washington Hospital Center and also an attending Oral Surgeon at National Institutes of Health.

 

 

Ronald S. Brown, DDS, MS

Dr. Brown is currently a professor in the department of Comprehensive Dentistry, Division of Oral Diagnosis, at Howard University College of Dentistry and also the Director of Continuing Dental Education. He is currently a clinical associate professor within the department of otolaryngology at Georgetown University Medical Center, and a volunteer research associate at NHLBI/NIH Hematology Branch. Ron Brown is a Washington DC native and attended the University of Maryland and graduated from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1971. He served in the US Army Dental Corps at Ft. Huachuca, AZ, and returned to the Washington, DC Metro area in private practice in Northern Virginia and DC. He completed postdoctoral education in pharmacology and oral medicine at Georgetown University with an MS in 1988. He has had previous faculty positions at Georgetown University School of Dentistry, and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

For the last several years, he has been listed as one of the top 100 CDE providers by Dentistry Today. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Medicine (ABOM), presently secretary of the ABOM, and a past-president of the American Academy of Oral Medicine.
